How do I install MS Office?

For University Machines Only

  • There are two options for managing University Machines:
    1. Via the campus system configuration manager (recommended)
      • Windows
        • Send a help ticket to csc_help@ncsu.edu and request MS Office installation. Generally, this can be installed remotely so it helps if you also provide details about the computer and its location where you want MS Office installed
      • Mac OS
        • Find the Self Service app in your Applications folder
        • Double click on it
        • From the left navigation menu, select NCSU-COE-CSC
        • If MS Office in NOT installed on your Mac, you will see an icon on the Self Service console for Microsoft Office. Click to install
        • If you don’t see an MC Office icon, then it means that it is already installed on your Mac. Please check the Applications folder.
    2. Stand alone (not recommended)
      • Faculty & Staff can download MS Office products from here: https://software.ncsu.edu/faculty-staff-university/microsoft-office/ [ requires Shibboleth login]
