On-Campus Employment Opportunities for Masters Students
Teaching Assistant (TA) Positions
TA Positions are reserved for PhD students.
Grader Positions
Grader positions are available to Masters students during the academic year and summer. These are hourly positions that are not eligible for GSSP.
Feel free to contact individual instructors and inquire about grader opportunities. Each instructor is responsible for hiring graders for their course(s). Instructors are notified of their grader hour allocations in the week before a semester or summer session starts.
Research Assistant (RA) Positions
Every semester, several Masters students do research work with faculty and are employed as research assistants.
Feel free to contact individual faculty and inquire about research opportunities. Keep in mind, though, that faculty prefer to work with students they know and who have done well in their courses. Therefore, it is important to perform well in your first semester and be actively engaged in class to possibly earn an RA position your 2nd semester or 2nd year.
Other On-Campus Positions
A broad range of hourly on-campus positions within departments or other units are advertised through the campus ePACK system. The ePACK portal allows students to apply for jobs and interviews, view career fairs and information session details, signup for workshops, and make appointments with career advisors.
International students are reminded that the employment opportunities available to them are limited by the type of visa they hold. They should consult the Office of International Services’ Student Employment website before beginning any job search.
