Use the Pack Planner to plan your remaining courses up to graduation. Some courses are offered only at certain times, so it is best to have a projected long-term course plan. Your CSC Academic Advisors are happy to help with this process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download and print a copy of the Study Abroad&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studyabroad.ncsu.edu\/credit-abroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Course Pre-Approval form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please complete all demographic information and the information asked for in the left-hand column (Study Abroad Courses) in full.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For courses that are in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webappprd.acs.ncsu.edu\/php\/transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transfer database<\/a> <strong>or<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/csc-study-abroad-database\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CSC Study Abroad database<\/a>, please copy that equivalency to the right-hand column of the pre-approval form. <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Please leave the NC State degree requirement column blank for courses that are not in either of the transfer databases<\/span><\/strong>.  \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The NC State credit hours column should be blank as well. Be sure to review the <a href=\"https:\/\/studyabroad.ncsu.edu\/study-abroad-credit-transfer-credit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Credit-Equivalency<\/a> page, as some courses may not come in for 3 hours. The number of credit hours approved will depend upon University guidelines on transfer credit hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Courses that are not in the transfer database need to be reviewed<\/strong>. <strong>Review does not guarantee transfer. The department review process typically takes 2 &#8211; 3 weeks, so this process should be started well before the Study Abroad application deadline. <\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CSC Course review process<\/span>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please use the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/advising-forms\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/advising-forms\/\">CSC Syllabus Review form<\/a> for each CSC class that is not already in the <a href=\"https:\/\/webappprd.acs.ncsu.edu\/php\/transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transfer database<\/a> <strong>or<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/csc-study-abroad-database\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CSC Study Abroad database<\/a>,.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The next deadline to submit CSC courses for review is <strong>September 8, 2025<\/strong> [for Spring 2026 abroad opportunities].<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The CSC Department has a limit of 6 hours of CSC Restricted Electives and 6 hours of Other Restricted Electives that students can take as non-NCSU GPA courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">For all other classes (GEP and non-CSC prefix)<\/span> :\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please refer to page 2 of the Study Abroad Course Pre-Approval form. The center column of that form lists to whom the syllabus should be sent for review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is <strong>vital<\/strong> that you ask for <strong>review<\/strong> and NOT approval, as only your department and college can approved these courses. You are merely seeking guidance from the other department on how the course might transfer back to NC State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit the Study Abroad&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studyabroad.ncsu.edu\/credit-abroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Course Pre-Approval form<\/a>&nbsp;via email to Ms. Marini <strong>and<\/strong> Mrs. Hamilton when you have completed and compiled the above information. They will review the form and help you route it to the appropriate next steps.
