Students become eligible to take graduate-level classes after completing both CSC 230 and CSC 316.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate students can request enrollment in a 500 level class as an undergraduate using the Graduate Request form<\/a>, as they are not able to self-enroll while still listed as an undergraduate student.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n

Can I take Graduate level classes as an undergraduate student?<\/h2>\n <\/summary>\n

Undergraduate ABM or Honors students can request enrollment in a 500 level class as an undergraduate using the Graduate Request form<\/a>, as they are not able to self-enroll while still listed as an undergraduate student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSC Department does not permit enrollment in 700-level classes for undergraduate students, even with instructor permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students become eligible to take graduate-level classes after completing both <\/strong>CSC 230 and CSC 316 and <\/strong>must have an overall GPA of a 3.5 or higher. This includes cross-listed classes that are hosted by the CSC department.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

What is the Computer Programming Minor and how can I add it to my degree?<\/span><\/h2>\n <\/summary>\n

Information about the Computer Programming Minor can be found on the CSC Undergraduate Advising website<\/a> and on the NC State University website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students must pass CSC 116 with a C or better<\/strong> and both co-requisite classes in order to be eligible to declare the minor. We will also accept COS 100<\/strong> for E 115<\/strong>; and CR<\/strong>, S*<\/strong>, or a transfer grade<\/strong> (ex. TB, TC+, etc.) in CSC 116.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and\/or Computer Engineering are not permitted to minor in Computer Programming.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

Can I take a class for no credit (audit a course)?<\/h2>\n <\/summary>\n

The CSC Department does not permit audits of undergraduate classes unless you are part of the Senior Auditors program<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n

How can I tell when a class is offered (full term, 8-week, 5-week, etc.)?<\/h2>\n <\/summary>\n

There are two ways to tell in what term a course is offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to the Enrollment wizard. Add any class to your shopping cart. Hover over the class on the calendar view (blue or green) and review the dates<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Go to the course catalog: https:\/\/webappprd.acs.ncsu.edu\/php\/coursecat\/<\/a> . Choose the correct term from the drop down menu. Browse by subject and\/or course number and then review the begin\/end dates<\/strong> column.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

    Can I use the same class for multiple spots in my CSC BS degree audit?<\/h2>\n <\/summary>\n

    Each line on your degree audit that specifies the number of credit-hours required to fulfill it requires a unique class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In many cases, a course may be part or two or more requirement category lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The course may count then for one of the groups but not both. You may choose which group the course counts toward, regardless of where it initially sorts in your degree audit. Students may request the course be moved by using the Degree Audit Course Shift Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Co-requirements<\/strong> may be fulfilled by taking a course from another category that has been designed by the University as fulfilling one of these co-requirements<\/strong>. This is possible only because they are listed as co-requirements<\/strong> and, as shown on your degree audit, do not need credit hours to be fulfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n

    What’s the difference between the elective categories in the CSC degree?<\/h2>\n <\/summary>\n

    There are a few types of electives in the CSC degree audit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
