{"id":114,"date":"2023-03-08T19:29:07","date_gmt":"2023-03-08T19:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/?page_id=114"},"modified":"2026-03-06T16:23:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T16:23:06","slug":"undergraduate-graduation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/undergraduate-graduation\/","title":{"rendered":"Undergraduate Graduation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Am I Eligible?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All students who are enrolled in their last degree requirements should apply for graduation for that semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Taking your last class in Spring? \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply for Spring graduation and join us at the May ceremonies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking your last class in the first summer session? \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply for Summer I graduation and join us at the December ceremonies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking your last class in the 10-week or second summer session? \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply for Summer II graduation and join us at the December ceremonies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking your last class in Fall? \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply for Fall graduation and join us at the December ceremonies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students may not participate in commencement ceremonies before they are eligible to apply for graduation. Exceptions are not made to this policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grades are not typically submitted until after the commencement ceremonies, so all students are \u201ccandidates for graduation\u201d until their grades are certified. This means students who are enrolled and eligible to apply may attend the ceremonies regardless of the status of their grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before You Apply to Graduate:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you apply to graduate, you will want to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review your Degree Audit\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;All items should have a green check mark or a yellow diamond (in progress). You&#8217;ll still be able to make changes to your enrollment, but you must check that new enrollments fulfill the categories you are still missing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Overall and Major GPA must be above a 2.0 in order to graduate (or no grades lower than a C minus for major electives and CSC classes).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you believe you have completed degree requirements but still see a red &#8220;x&#8221; on your degree audit, please submit the&nbsp;<strong>Degree Audit Course Shift<\/strong>&nbsp;form as found on our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/my.csc.ncsu.edu\/undergrad-advising\/advising-forms\/\">Advising Forms page<\/a><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply any&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/policies.ncsu.edu\/regulation\/reg-02-20-16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grade exclusions<\/a>. <strong>Grade exclusions cannot be applied after submitting your application for Graduation<\/strong>. You should only use a grade exclusion if that class is not being counted toward your degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declare any minors and\/or review with that Minor Coordinator what is needed to certify the minor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply to Graduate:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You may complete the Graduation Application by logging into MyPack Portal and then clicking<a href=\"http:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/applyforgrad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once successful, you should see the following note display: \u201cYou have successfully applied for graduation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CSC Department and College of Engineering will review your application and will only contact you if there is an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Information About Commencement:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The CSC Department Diploma Ceremony<\/strong>\u00a0for Spring 2026 will begin at 3:00 pm in Reynolds Coliseum on <strong>May 7, 2026<\/strong>. Line-up will begin at 2:15 pm.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Due to a new policy by the venue, tickets <strong>will be required<\/strong> in the Spring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will also offer a live stream of the entire event at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/csc-diploma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">go.ncsu.edu\/csc-diploma<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The departmental ceremony is usually before all final grades are submitted, so all candidates are welcome to participate even if their final grades are unknown.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>University Commencement Ceremony<\/strong> is usually in the Lenovo Center or at Carter-Finley Stadium, depending on the weather and time of year. For Spring 2026, it is set for <strong>9:00 am <\/strong>at Carter-Finley Stadium. <br><br>Important semester-specific details about commencement are available at:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/commencement.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/commencement.ncsu.edu\/<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This event is usually held the Saturday after grades are submitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Caps &amp; Gowns <strong>must be worn at both<\/strong> the University and the Departmental ceremonies, and may be purchased at the NC State Bookstore. If you now have&nbsp;or *expect to have* by the end of this semester:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3.25 to 3.499 GPA, you may also purchase a white Cum Laude sash;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.5 to 3.749 GPA, you may also purchase a silver Magna Cum Laude sash;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.75 to 4.0 GPA, you may also purchase a gold Summa Cum Laude sash.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>All honors sashes (*optional*) may also be purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information regarding commencement can be found here:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentservices.ncsu.edu\/your-degree\/graduation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/studentservices.ncsu.edu\/your-degree\/graduation\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Graduation Checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For students finishing their undergraduate degree requirements in Spring 2026, please be sure to complete the following items <strong>no later than March 31, 2026<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/nPNuun11wsz5QFd68\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ceremony RSVP &amp; Information form<\/a> (required regardless of attendance)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/uda.ncsu.edu\/surveys\/live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University&#8217;s Future Plans Survey and the Graduating Senior Survey<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register for the <a href=\"https:\/\/engr.ncsu.edu\/academics\/undergrad\/rings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recognition of Graduates event<\/a> if you want to be inducted into the\u00a0 Pledge of the Computing Professional and receive a lapel pin or ring\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This specific event is on May 6 at 4 pm. It is open for Fall 2025 graduates or Spring\/Summer 2026 candidates for graduation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the items on the <a href=\"https:\/\/commencement.ncsu.edu\/graduation-checklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University\u2019s checklist<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Am I Eligible?
