  • CV stands for curriculum vitae, which translates to “course of life” in Latin. They are often required when applying to academic jobs like teaching or research positions. CVs are used to outline a person’s entire education, publications, honors, accomplishments, projects, awards, and professional experience. While resumes are typically limited to 1-2 pages in length, there is no length limit for a CV, and they tend to be much longer than a resume.
